The Best Is Yet To Come

"We can't predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come." -Elder L. Tom Perry-
I have this quote, along with many others, posted on my wall. I love this quote and I say cite it to myself over and over again when I get discouraged.

Today when I was walking home from a class, I realized that some grasses are turning green. I thought, 'Spring is just around the corner.' Even though we didn't have a terrible winter, I welcomed this sign of spring. I was excited then I remembered the quote, "the best is yet to come."

What does that mean to me? It means that I am very hopeful of the future. I know I am doing something that the Lord wants me to do and by doing so, I will be able to receive a blessing that the Lord has promised me long ago. I still make mistakes but I know what I am doing is exactly what I need to be doing right now. I don't doubt or fear that what I am doing is not what the Lord wants me to do because it is inviting me to do good.

Spring comes after winter no matter what as blessings come after trials.
"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." Ether 12:4

True Thoughts Part 3

Before I start on my true thoughts, I have to make a confession. I have a Pinterest account. Yes, I do. I got four folders: recipes, house, clothes and cool pictures. My favorite so far has to be the House folder because I love looking at different decorations and stuff I would like to have later on in my life.

I went nutty recently. After talking to more female friends, I realized that guys really don't ask girls out on dates. I can't say anything bad about them because I am guilty of it also. The next morning I had a thought that maybe I should ask these girls out on dates. Then I remembered that my life is about service. These girls shouldn't feel bad for not being asked out. (I hate sounding like I am righteous or anything because I am not. I say things and do things because I just feel like I need to do them, not because I want to look so righteous to other people.)

Once I decided on this, my prayer has been more meaningful and I added some things into my prayer. I started to pray to see girls as daughters of God and that I would respect them and honor them. This has a really interesting effect on me. I started to care more about how they feel in different situations. Also, I feel like I am following what God wants me to do/what my Patriarchal blessing tells me to do.

Another interesting thing I decided to do is comment on their "beauties" that I recognize in them. Everyone deserves to see what God has given them and recognize them as blessings. I personally don't recognize them but my friends do and I appreciate so much when they tell me these attributes that I have that I have never recognized. I have nothing to be proud of because I am nothing. (Mosiah 4:11)
"At times we may even feel insignificant, invisible, alone, or forgotten. But always remember—you matter to Him!" -President Uchtdorf-
"Sisters, wherever you are, whatever your circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you with an infinite love." -President Uchtdorf-

Minor Case of Panic Attack

So every time I see that I got a new email in my inbox, I start to head a panic attack. You will never know why...unless I told you about it already.

Update
1:16 pm
I had a panic attack for like 10 minutes.

More Things You Didn't Know About Kyoo

I blow dry my hair.

I love playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

I love this new hair thing I am doing. (I really look more Asian, which I didn't think it was possible.)

I still watch Korean movies time to time.

I have a guitar. (Notice how I didn't say that I play.)

I decided to do a semi-free sugar diet after I finish eating all the junk food I already have. (Which means no chocolate, no cake frosting, no candy, no cookies, etc) So basically no junk food, but sugar in meals is OK.

Did you know that I donate plasma religiously? Maybe you did.

I dislike geology and found no use for it.

I cry like a little baby only when I am watching/reading something sad by myself. (I just let myself go.)

I think dream interpretation is whacked.

I like looking at myself in the mirror. (I check to see if certain clothes look good on me and I enjoy it when they do.)

I don't mind telling people about myself even if it's something embarrassing.

I have hard time spelling words with double double-lettered words like embarrassing.

I also had to think really hard before I could spell "yielding" correctly. (It happened like 20 minutes ago.)

I can't think of anything else to write.

Sorry, guys. I couldn't find any funny Asian-related pictures, but enjoy this:

Moving, Not Moving

Usually when it comes to moving, I don't worry too much about it and take any opportunity I get and go with it. That's how it was with Brownstone and La Casa. However, for some odd reason, I am pondering more about it now than ever.

One of my roommates wants me to move with him to Belmont but I don't want to live in that area again and I don't want to pay a ton of money to live there. The problem is I don't know if I want to move out of the ward that I am in right now or not. If I decide to stay in the ward, I have to find a place to live within the ward boundary which narrows down my options. If I decide to move out of the ward, I need to decide if I want to live with someone I know or start fresh with people I don't know.

I have to consider how much I am willing to pay. I have to consider how far the place is from the campus. I have to consider how spacious the place is. I have to consider my roommates. I have to consider so many things! It's only February but I am still so worried about it!

I wish someone would just invite me to live with him so I don't have to search for places to live. Someone persuade me to do one thing or another.

Most Chill Saturday Night Ever

No, I wasn't on a date. No, I wasn't hanging out friends. I am sitting at home listening to mellow Korean music, blog stalking, writing in my journal and drinking hot chocolate.

I just watched a really beautiful Korean movie that could be rated G. It was such a beautiful movie and I was so glad to watch it. I felt so good afterwards that I decided to unload the dishwasher.

Afterwards, I got a Korean music CD out of my car and started listening to it. After writing this post, I am going to write in my journal about my experience at the temple. I had a really interesting "vision" or thought. It's kind of personal but it is also a very beautiful and inspiring "vision" to me. I gave me hope for the future. :)

I really wish all of you would be able to experience/feel what I am experiencing/feel once in a while. It feels really peaceful.

Late Night Inspirations

...which disappear the next morning. True story.

Few nights ago, I had an awesome idea of doing a stand-up comedy but all about Asians. The next morning, it was all gone.

Last night, I thought of a poem. It was all gone this morning.

Late night inspirations are the worst inspirations ever because you are so excited about them but the next morning, you forget all about them. Why can't you come when I am fully conscious?!

Enjoy the comic.

Update on I Work at a Zoo Called "Library" Part 16

I met the girl and she actually got me Grandma's cookies (the ones I am addicted to). We talked for a while, and I found out that she loves Joe Ostenson, one of the psychology professors and my favorite professor. Before she left, I asked for her name: S. B. (For a privacy issue, I will not reveal her full name)
Never met this girl but when she came, we acted like we were already friends. Weird.
That just happened.

Client-Centered Therapy

This is my kind of therapy that I would love to practice.

I don't tell the client what his/her problem is but I help the client bring out what the problem is by validating how he/she feels. He/she might not even know what the problem is at this point so what I have to do is keep validating the client's feelings and thoughts by repeating what he/she says then have him/her talk about what their concerns are. If a client asks me a question, I either tell him/her that I don't have the answer or help her understand that she already knows the answer.

Here is a clip by Carl Rogers (a founder of this psychotherapy). You can skip to :40 to watch the beginning of the session.
