Making Sense of Everything: Labels

You know, nowadays people try to label everything. For example, now there is a spectrum of autism when years ago, there was only autism. People try to fit something or someone somewhere to make sense of it. Why? Watch this video. It's pretty intriguing.

It's like every survey you take they ask you a question about your race. You look around how many people can you see whom you might think they belong in "other." Most of the population in the US are from different races; you can't call one person Hispanic, African American, Asian American, White/Caucasian, etc. What defines someone as Hispanic? What defines someone as Asian? Their distinguished looks? Their native language? What if someone looks white but his/her native language is Spanish but grew up in the US? Is that person Hispanic or White? Overall, who cares? Why does that matter? Why do people try to label each other and put each other in some kind of categories? Am I the only one who thinks this is really stupid?
